The town of Melino is jampacked with tons of lot types. There are four main districts to live in with different vibes in each. Narrowing in on residential though:
9 pre-built, unoccupied homes/apartments that you can move into immediately.
10 empty residential lots if you'd rather build your own home from scratch.
25 occupied residential homes already lived in by the town's pre-made Para's.
If you are not comfortable with navigating small spaces, I would not choose a building that is smushed between others.

From here, take your time exploring Melino, meeting new Parafolks and discovering the game in Early Access. There isn't a "right" way to play Paralives so have fun experimenting, embracing the unexpected and making this save your own.
my thoughts
Overall, I had a blast exploring Melino. You can tell a lot of love went into the world. From the unique architecture, to all the little details that make each neighborhood feel different. There are already so many homes and lot options to choose from, which made exploring every corner really fun. There are a few things I'd love to see improved, like giving lots names (Added Aug 2026), making it easier to preview homes before buying, and tweaking the map controls a bit. But honestly, those are pretty minor compared to how much I enjoyed exploring the world!
